Afternoon at the Aquarium

Granny and Jack spent a fun afternoon at the Aquarium, where he expanded the concept of "fish" to include "BIG fishes" and "Star fish." We sweetened the day with an ice cream break - and ended it with dinner and a "concert" at Granny's. A fun time was had by all!

Katrina Relief

Katrina Relief Trip

I've just returned from Mississippi where a group of us from Messiah went to do Katrina Relief. We had a fabulous Project Manager who was able to turn out willingness into productive work! There isn't a lot of clean up to do in Mississippi - the force of the water surge destroyed buildings and trees, and as it receded, it took everything with it. Instead, the need is for construction - and we "finished" a house in our three days, sanding, painting, laying tile, cutting and installing baseboards, etc. We were comfortably (relatively!) housed in Quonset huts. The remains of the town of Bay St. Louis - one short block!
